Gabriel Peyton Philipp

Gabriel was born on June 4th, 2005 at UCSD Hillcrest Hospital in San Diego, CA. He weighed 6 lbs. 3 oz. He was like his brother in being born early. He was in fact a month and a half early. Gabriel spent 2 weeks in the NICU. He had trouble breathing at first and had to be put on a breathing machine for 2 days, but soon came home healthy and happy.

Gabriel is now over a year old and is starting to walk all by himself. He is certainly more reserved than Christian in his personality but he does have his moments of laughter and giggling. He gets along wonderfully with Christian and loves to wrestle with him.

Gabriel's favorite things to do are pick up things and put them in boxes, toys, cheerios, blocks. He also has two favorite TV shows he gets to watch. One is "Backyard gains" and the other is "Jack's Big Music Show" on the TV station NOGGIN. He loves to be outside and try’s and plays with a ball with Christian.

He of course wants to do everything Christian does, but enjoys playing with himself and his toys. He's in that stage of clinging on to me, and can't stand being away from me or even out of my sight but hopefully that is just a faze he's going through.

He is a head shorter than Christian but still above average on the growth charts. I would say he's much more high maintenance than Christian but I love every minute of it.

Gabriel is starting to get some of his features in and doesn't look so much like a baby any more. One of his most beautiful features is his eyes. They are not brown, but green and blue, very strange for having two parents with brown eyes. And Gabriel has a very beautiful warm smile. He is certainly our little angel!

Currently Gabriel is 16 months and there are a few bench markers that he isn’t hitting but we are in the process of correcting that. He has gone through a lot from birth till now, form being in the NICU for 2 weeks to having to wear a Cranial Cap on his head to correct his head shape to now having to deal with some delays and hearing loss. However, with all of this going on in his young life he remains to be a joy and a huge blessing in our lives. He is a fairly easy little boy, and loves playing with his brother Christian. Despite his hearing loss, he loves playing “peek-a-boo” and being chased around the house with us saying to him “I’m gonna get you”. He also is a beautiful little boy with light eyes and light hair and light skin. Funny that he has an Indian mother who is all dark. Hahah.

Mommy and Daddy love you very much Gabriel and we look forward to watching you grow up and explore the world around you.
