Christian Scott Philipp
Christian was born on December 11, 2003 at UCSD Hillcrest in San Diego, CA. He was born a preemie (not by much though) as weighed 5 lbs and 5 oz. He spent his first week in the NICU fighting to breath and remained under a plastic tent for the first 48 hours at least. As a first time mother it was very tough for me to see him that way. But I assure you, he is a very healthy normal little boy as of now.
He was an extremely out going, fun, and super giggly little baby and it has continued into Toddler hood. Here was this adorable little boy with a small head and body and these saucer like brown eyes staring at you. Oh and lets not forget about his intoxicating smile. He was for certain center of attention where ever we went.
We use to take daily outings to Starbuck, and that was fun, but when one of his first words was “Mocha” I thought perhaps we come here to often! J Christian loves being center of everything so you can just imagine what he thought when Gabriel his little brother came along.
It was a struggle at first to share mommy, but now Christian is certainly the big brother. He helps me feed Gabriel and brings him his pacifier and will get ride of Gabriel’s dirty diapers. He loves playing “tickle, tickle” and “peek-a-boo”, as well as chases Gabriel around the house and tackles him. And Gabriel loves it.
Christian is 2 ½ right now and he just started going to Pre-school 3 days a week, half days. He loves it and has already made a few friends he likes to play with. It is all play based so really he feels like he’s playing the whole time while actually learning. He’s having a great time.
Christian is such a funny little man and will laugh not only at anything, but will laugh at himself if he is in a giggly sort of mood. He loves play dough, the play ground, kicking the soccer ball all over the place, ridding his little red rider tricycle, and coloring. Building blocks and playing with his Thomas the Train set is also some of this other favorite things to do. But what has been extremely fun is after his dinner and after his bath; Christian and I curl up on the couch with a stack of books that we read together. Every time Christian starts off his stories it’s “One day…” So cute. But he loves reading.
His favorite shows he get to watch in the morning while were getting ready for school and in the evenings before dinner are: Maya and Miguel (PBS); Curious George (PBS) which he has a back pack of. Christian calls it his “Back kack”, and Dragon Tales (PBS). He use to watch “Little Bear”, “Backyardagins”, and “Sunny Patch Friends” all on NOGGIN.
His three favorite movies are: “Aristocats” and “Lion King” and “The Rolly Polly kitten” by Beatrice Potter.
His vocabulary has gotten quite extensive, but it so fun to hear him talk, here are some examples of words he says… Nana (Bannana), Sir Topin Hat (Sir Topham Hatt), Motorcycle, No Fank you (No thank you), Chocwit Milk (Chocolate Milk), and Punkin (Pumpkin).
Christian is such a fun loving; out going, giggly, friendly little boys it’s hard to resist his charm! It has been a challenge and a joy being with him.
He recently went through some difficulties by being in the hospital for 5 days due to massive swelling in his face caused by an abscessed tooth. But that has since been resolved. He was certainly a trooper in the hospital and dealt with things beautifully!
Mommy and Daddy are so proud of him and love him so very much! We look forward to watching him grow and expand his mind and personality! He has certainly been a joy and blessing to the Philipp Family!
